Here are 9 things I do that help me be more productive as a social media and digital marketing professional.
️⃣ Schedule your posts in advance: Use a social media management tool like Later or HeyOrca! (my two personal faves) to schedule your posts in advance, so you don't have to manually post every day.
️⃣ Use templates: Create social media post templates for your brand, so you don't have to start from scratch every time you create a new post. You can make branded templates in Canva!
️⃣ Batch your content creation: Set aside a specific block of time each week to create your social media content for the upcoming week or month, so you can work efficiently and avoid distractions.
️⃣ Use analytics to optimize your strategy: Use social media analytics tools to track your performance and adjust your strategy accordingly, so you're not wasting time on tactics that aren't working. (I will admit my guilty pleasure is spending a little bit of extra time here because I like to analyze the data!)
️⃣ Repurpose your content: Repurpose your blog posts, videos, or podcasts into social media posts, so you don't have to create new content from scratch every time.
️⃣ Create a content calendar: Use a content calendar to plan out your social media content in advance, so you can stay organized and focused.
️⃣ Automate your responses: Use a chatbot or automated response system to handle frequently asked questions or customer service inquiries, so you can save time and focus on other tasks.
️⃣ Use social listening tools: Use social listening tools to monitor mentions of your brand or industry on social media, so you can respond quickly and engage with your audience.
️⃣ Take breaks: It's important to take breaks and step away from social media periodically, so you don't burn out or become overwhelmed by the constant influx of information. Set aside specific times each day to check your social media accounts, and resist the urge to check them outside of those times.
Another option to help optimize your time if you're not wanting to be a social pro, but understand the need to be on social is to outsource your social media management. If you don't have the time or resources to manage your social media accounts yourself, consider outsourcing to a social media management agency or freelancer—consider Red Mare Digital!
